Benzoate Based Light Stabilizers

PowerSorb™ 2908

n-Hexadecyl-3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzoate.
Chemical Structure
Introduction / Features
PowerSorb™ 2908 is a benzoate-type light stabilizer that functions by scavenging free radicals formed during the photodegradation of plastic materials. Combined with hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) often provide superior performance vs. HALS used alone, especially in polyolefin substrates.
PowerSorb™ 2908 is non-discoloring and resistant to extraction. It has good compatibility with polyolefin substrates. PowerSorb™ 2908 is FDA-cleared for use in many types of polyolefins for indirect food contact applications.
